The working principle of a cutter suction dredger is to generate a certain vacuum through the action of a centrifugal mud pump on board, suck in and lift the excavated mud, and then discharge it through the ship's mud pipeline. The specific process is as follows:
1. Loosening the soil on the seabed or river bottom: The front end bridge of the suction dredger can be lowered below the water surface with the ear axis as the center, and the front end is covered with replaceable cutter teeth. Use the rotation of the cutter to loosen the underwater mud surface.
2. Mud extraction: A rotating special cutter device is installed at the inlet end of the suction pipe. The stern of the ship is equipped with positioning rigid piles and steel pile lifting and landing devices, which are used for positioning, lateral swinging, and longitudinal forward movement of the ship during dredging operations. The cutter device loosens the soil and reefs on the seabed or river bottom, and then uses a suction pipe to transport the twisted sediment material to the stacking site or sludge discharge area with the help of strong pump force.
3. Transporting mud: The negative pressure suction generated by the mud pump in the cabin extracts mud and sand from underwater and blows it to a designated area over a kilometer away.
